Here's the meat and potatoes of BGBR--our episodes! We try to keep our book selections to the more unknown books, but that doesn't mean we won't occasionally pick a bestseller from time to time. If you've got a recommendation let us know!

Episode 11 - Lord of the Rams by Ronan Smith
In our final episode we review a novel by an Irish author who sent us his book! It's an autobiography with a bit of an attitude (and a lot of beer), so it should fit well with with us. Will we feel right at home with this one, or will it be like one of those awkward visits to the in-laws??

We were looking for an exciting military thrill ride when we picked out Certain Jeopardy, a book about an Army special ops group. So was this the badass pee-your-pants thrill ride we were hoping for, or was it a lame-ass kiddie ride?

Episode 7 - Florence of Arabia by Christopher Buckley
We're getting political! This one's a political satire about bringing peace to the middle east through the liberation of women in the fictional oil-rich countries of Matar and Wasabia. So, did we strike (black) gold with this one, or was it a bust?

Episode 6 - Thief of Time by Terry Pratchett
Like books about time travel? So do we, but this isn't one of them. No, it's about an attempt to stop time itself. We've been on the search for a truly great book...so did we finally find one this "time??"

Episode 5 - Old Man's War by John Scalzi
Old Man's War is about...well...old men (and old women) going to war...in space! An interesting premise, I'll grant you, but does the book hold up to the premise or is this just another cool idea gone horribly wrong? (see: Wicked)

Episode 4 - Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk
Chuck Palahniuk is most known for a book he wrote, called Fight Club, which became (in our humble opinion) one of the best movies ever. Pygmy follows a 13-year-old terrorist as he becomes an exchange student and moves to the midwestern United States in an attempt to win a high school science fair. He wants to win the science fair so that he can get to Washington D.C. and blow it up. Perfectly reasonable plot, right?? So...is it ridiculously fantastic or, just ridiculous?

Jeffisode 1 - Books & Beer
It began as a simple idea to film an intro vid for Episode 4 where we find out about some of our friends' literary preferences. It ended up becoming an impromptu game show which lasted nearly 10 minutes. Since it won't work as an intro vid, we present for your enjoyment (hopefully), Books & Beer, a special "Jeffisode" available only on the website!

Episode 3 - Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
Wicked is a book that presents the story of The Wizard Of Oz from a slightly different angle. This book follows the "wicked witch of the west" from birth to death and allows us a glimpse into how she came to be the way she is. So will the guys of BGBR find the book to be wicked fun...or wicked awful?
